Dear MBA Mod Class of 2006 Member,
At the end of last year we had an awesome time connecting with a handful of Modular 2006 class mates. It was great to have a drink together in the Brig and catch-up on some war stories and reminisce on our time 10 yrs ago at GSB – the first modular group – trail blazing the way for what has become a very successful programme.
Elspeth Donovan and Evan Gilbert joined us for the cocktails and it was great to see them. The brewery tour was awesome and so was the breakfast at Groot Constantia. Highlight was seeing everyone and connecting again.
Justice (AKA Jazzman) proposed that we do something that will leave a legacy of our class. Jaco and I did some research and ended up visiting Philippi village where GSB has set up a business centre for the community to use for small business, training and meetings. It is an incredible facility and they have had great success already with multiple small businesses running using this "GSB Philippi Village campus" as a base.
They rely on sponsorship to enable further development of the centre and we asked them how we could help. At the moment they need an interactive video conference facility to set up a live link between Philippi and GSB. This will cost about R15k.
Why don’t we all chip in and leave a legacy of being involved in changing a community. We have already raised R1500 and I will contribute another R1000 from me.
